The district has recently received several complaints regarding properties watering outside of the mandatory watering schedule. We would like to remind all customers that Denver Water’s summer watering rules are mandatory as well as the mandatory drought restrictions. 

Please make sure you are following the watering schedule:

• Even-numbered addresses: Sunday and Thursday
• Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesday and Saturday
• All others including Multifamily & Commercial properties: Tuesday and Friday

Watering is permitted only between 6 pm and 10 am. Please do not irrigate during the restricted daytime hours.

Customers are also reminded to:

• Skip watering when it is raining or when conditions are too windy.
• Avoid allowing water to run into gutters and streets.
• Do not spray water onto sidewalks, driveways or other hard surfaces.
• Repair leaking sprinkler systems promptly.
• Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when watering by hand.

During a drought, trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and vegetables may be watered any day using a hand-held hose or low-volume, non-spray irrigation, such as drip systems. However, watering is still not allowed between 10 am and 6 pm.

These restrictions are in place to help conserve our water supply during the current drought conditions. Please do your part by following your assigned watering days and times and using water wisely.
